What are the factors Defining LGV Cat C Training?

- Advertisment -spot_img

There are so many different types of licences and tests in terms of LGV driving. So, it is a bit confusing. Since there is a huge need for LGV drivers in the UK, getting training and a job as one is not difficult. We’ll concentrate on LGV CAT C training or HGV class 2 training even though there are six driver training classes available.

An LGV CAT C licence is a more broad term used to drive automobiles weighing more than 3500 kg and trailers weighing up to 750 kg. Although this licence is occasionally referred to as a “class 2 licence,” both words refer to the same qualification. With this licence, you would frequently drive the kinds of lorries needed to move goods throughout the nation or throughout Europe. Trucks with stiff bodies are also known as those operated under this licence.

Difference Between a Class 2 and a Class 1 Driver

The only thing that separates class 1 and class 2 drivers are the kind of cars they are permitted to operate. A rigid or category C vehicle may be operated with a class 2 licence, while an articulated truck may only be driven with a class 1 licence. Most companies advise their drivers to pass their class 2 test before moving on to a class 1 test. We advise drivers to remain in class 2 for a time before going up since it naturally requires less training.

How To Become A Class 2 HGV Driver

It’s imperative that you complete the requirements for a class 2 licence before you even contemplate applying to become one. You must be at least 18 years old and have a current driver’s licence in order to participate. The next step is to apply for a provisional class 2 licence, after which you must pass a medical examination and a theoretical test. Once you get your class 2 licence, you must complete 35 hours of training every five years in order to keep it. Becoming an HGV driver can take two to three months, so be sure you have the prerequisites and the time before you begin.

The class 2 test consists of four sections, each of which must be purchased separately. The first section consists of a two-part theory test with multiple-choice and hazard perception questions. You will next go to the case study test. The final step is a practical demonstration once you pass a driving proficiency test. You’ll get your class 2 driving licence once you pass all four tests.

  •  18 years old
  • Should have a provisional licence.
  • Clear the theoretical test after passing the medical exam.
  • A 35-hour periodic CPC training course after every five years.

These and other queries may be in the thoughts of those who desire LGV CAT C training. You can do it fast now that you are aware of what it is, what is necessary to earn a licence, and why it is so important. As a result of the discussion above, it is evident that when a person follows the correct procedure required to drive LGV Cat C vehicles for safer as well as legal driving aspects, things will go as planned.
